JOHN D. RACHEL, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Born in New York and raised outside of Detroit, MI, Dr. Rachel earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing MI, graduating with honors. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit MI, where he also completed his internship and residency programs. Dr. Rachel also completed Research Fellowship programs for the National institutes of Health and the National institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Dr. Rachel is a member of numerous professional medical societies and has frequently served in a leadership capacity. He has authored dozens of papers and presentations on facial cosmetic and head and neck surgery. In addition, Dr. Rachel has been recognized with numerous honors and awards from leading institutes and organizations, including Alpha Omega Alpha, Phi Beta Kappa, the John Orlando Roe Award from AAFPRS, Distinction in Biomedical Research Award, National Institutes of Health Research Recipient Award, National Dean’s Letter, and Mortar Board.
Married with two children, Dr. Rachel enjoys time with family, skiing and snowboarding. He is an Ironman Triathlete and frequent participant in endurance races.
